How to Install Choicer Voicer Mods

Check the Source, Version, and Archive First
Download the desktop game only from the official itch.io listing. For community Packs, prefer a known hub or the creator’s direct page, then read the version and installation notes before extracting. A media Pack should not need a surprise executable installer.
Scan the archive, list its top-level folders, and identify the folder that actually contains audio, text, or artwork. Keep the untouched archive until the Pack has passed testing so you can compare the original structure later.
- Back up existing custom Packs before changing game versions.
- Reject cracked game executables and unofficial mobile APK files.
- Check the author, update date, dependencies, and usage permissions.
- Extract outside the game directory so wrapper folders are obvious.
Use one clean installation path
Install the Mod or Voice Pack
Close the game
Do not move active Pack folders while the game may be reading them.
Back up custom content
Copy the current Pack folders to a dated backup outside the game directory.
Extract the new download
Open it in a temporary location and inspect the first two folder levels.
Read the included instructions
Follow a pack-specific destination when the author names one; Voice Packs normally belong in packs_voice.
Copy the actual content folder
Avoid adding an accidental archive-name wrapper above the Pack unless it is an intended parent category.
Restart and run one full round
Confirm the Pack name, clip list, audio, subtitle, artwork, recording, and result.
Read the symptoms
Fix Common Choicer Voicer Mod Installation Problems
| Symptom | Check | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Pack is not listed | Folder destination and extra wrapper levels | Move the actual Pack folder to the expected directory |
| Pack lists zero usable clips | File extensions and clip encoding | Re-extract or re-export supported media |
| Old content still appears | Duplicate folders or cached running session | Close the game, remove the duplicate, and restart |
| Artwork is missing | Matching filenames and fallback image | Rename the image or add _pack_filler_image |
| Game becomes unstable | Pack version and most recent change | Remove only the newest Pack and retest the clean backup |
Update without overwriting custom work
Keep Mods Organized Across Game Updates
Use one folder per author and version in your archive library, but keep only the active content folder in the game. Before replacing the desktop build, save custom Packs separately. After updating, restore one content family at a time and test before adding the next.
If a new release changes Pack behavior, use the latest creator guide and official devlog rather than assuming an old folder convention remains current. Preserve a small known-good Pack as a diagnostic control.

How to Install Choicer Voicer Mods FAQ
Where do Choicer Voicer Voice Packs go?
Voice Packs normally go in packs_voice inside the desktop game directory. Use the pack author’s instructions for other content types.
Why is my Pack not showing?
The most common causes are an extra wrapper folder, the wrong destination, unsupported file formats, or a Pack built for a different version.
Should a content Pack include an installer?
Folder-based media Packs generally should not require an unexpected executable. Inspect and scan every community archive.
How do I remove a broken mod?
Close the game, remove only the most recently added Pack folder, restore the backup if needed, and test again.
